Island Small Businesses Unite In Tough Times

SMALL businesses and start ups in the Island are putting on a united front through tough times.  The newly formed Small Business Network brings together likeminded small businesses to meet on a monthly basis for a ‘nosh and network’, share ideas and maybe even do business.

The not for profit network has been founded by Helen and David Parker, owners of local small business - PurpleAccounts and has already attracted dozens of entrepreneurs eager to take advantage of the opportunity to meet others in the same boat.

Helen Parker commented:  “Advertising can be a ‘dear do’ -  there are no discounts for being small!  Networking doesn’t cost anything and works particularly well for small businesses as each individual is the key decision maker.  Warm introductions are very effective  – especially in the Isle of Man where there’s always someone who know someone who needs your service or product. “

The Small Business Network was the next natural step for PurpleAccounts  to help fellow small businesses. Already rooted firmly in the Island as market leaders for accountancy and bookkeeping services for small business, the network is free to join and each member’s logo and link to their website  is displayed in the online ‘members room’ – www.smallbusinessnetwork.im

The networking events will run every 2nd Tuesday in each month and the only cost is the food itself.

The first event in July was a huge success with many of those attending the breakfast booking their place for the next ‘nosh and network’ event on Tuesday 11th August to be held at ‘Spice On The Quay’, Douglas.  5.30pm for 6pm start.

Places are strictly limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.  To book a place email enquiries@smallbusinessnetwork.im, or call Helen on 860103.
