PurpleAccounts wins global accountancy award!
Mon, 28 Nov 2011
It has been an eventful week for David Parker, Managing Director of market leading Purple Accounts. Only a matter of days after being a Finalist in the Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence, he was attending the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Awards in London as a Finalist, where he won the Highly Commended Award for Inspirational Story Of The Year. David was the only representative from Europe in the category, making this a considerable achievement and placing Mann on the map in terms of excellence in accountancy.
400 industry leaders from around the world congregated to celebrate the success of first class Chartered Management Accountants, being recognised for their achievements. David was nominated as a finalist in the category ‘Inspirational Story of the Year’, following recognition of his achievements in overcoming significant obstacles to fulfill his career ambitions.
David had his first business at the age of 14, growing house plants from cuttings in containers such as used yoghurt pots in his parents corner shop. He funded his initial accountancy studies himself whilst holding down a full time job, and very quickly progressed through the ranks in corporate environments before eventually starting up Purple Accounts, a family business serving the needs of small businesses, which has gone from strength to strength and continues to grow from its base in Victoria Street, Douglas with further branches in the UK.
David commented, “l am absolutely delighted to be a finalist in the IOM awards for the 4th consecutive year, and to receive the ‘Highly Commended’ award from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants really caps off a fantastic year. I would like to thank the team at Purple Accounts, and for the support of our clients during the last 4 years”
